Julius Hansen lives with his father, a brilliant astrophysicist who loves his son and his work more than anything else... but unfortunately doesn't have much common sense when it comes to the everyday aspects of life. As a result, Julius learnt to run the entire household himself at a very early age. Cooking, baking and shopping - none of it is any problem for the calm, organised Julius. The only problem is his friend, Elsa. And this is where our tale begins. For Elsa has finally had enough of the whole thing. As far as she can see, the Hansen household works like this: Julius rushes around, sorting out one task after the other, while the Professor constantly causes disasters - and leaves someone else to clean them up. The worst thing of all is that Julius doesn't have enough time to spend with her, and he doesn't even realise why. So a radical solution is required! And Elsa has a brilliant idea: Professor Hansen needs a wife...
Julius is usually impressed by Elsa's bright ideas, but the thought of finding a suitable wife for his father - if such a woman even exists - leaves him feeling rather uneasy. On the other hand, he doesn't want to abandon Elsa. So the two children set their plan in motion. In fact everything goes wrong from the very start... until love finally overwhelms Julius and his father, in the most literal sense of the word. Chance brings the Professor and Nora together, but now the children have to lend a hand - or true love may never take its course.
"How to Make Your Father Fall in Love" is a light-hearted look at love and falling in love, a story to amuse children, amaze parents and evoke wise smiles from grandparents. The witty family story is based on a successful French book that was awarded the 1994 Prix Beaugency for most amusing children's story.
